SOUTH AFRICA Baz Bus, South Africa's only national backpackers bus services, is celebrating 10 years in operation. This hop-on, hop-off bus company was founded in November 1995 by South African accountant Barry 'Baz' Zeidel, who was inspired by similar concept in Europe and Australia when backpacking overseas and decided to bring the idea home to South Africa. From frequencies of twice a week in 1995 between Cape Town and Durban, the buses now travel daily in both directions to Port Elizabeth and five times a week to Durban, 365 days a year.
