Where do I begin to explain what an amazing trip I had, Baz Bus is such a fantastic product and is so convenient!!!! Thank you very much for giving me an opportunity to explore South Africa . I was very impressed with the excellent services I got from all your employees (drivers), I like the extra touch they gave us with the information on the history on South Africa it just made the experience all the more special. Thanks. Will definately recommend it to my friends. All the drivers were very good but one was especilly good. He was called Johny and he drove us from Durban to Chynza. He was very informative and helpfull without being OTT and I would like to thank him especially because not only did he make our journey very pleasant he also reunited me with my walking boots when I stupidly left them behind at Gibelas in Durban. Hi there i would like to say that eversince i have been using the baz bus in june 2008 i have had nothing but great experiences. My favourite driver has been Zamo, he always got me to my destination safely and he has a bubbly personality I am planning to write an essay on my experience on the baz bus but me as a tourist. To whom this may concern, I am writing on behalf of a friend and I who travelled on the bazbus towards the end of March 2009. The service we received was very good throughout but we particularly wish to bring your attention to the drivers who took us from Cintsa to Durban on thursday 26th March (we were already on the bus), Johnny, and from the Northern Drakensburgs to Johannesburg on sunday 29th March, Jessie. Both these drivers went well beyond their duty to ensure we were safe on our arrivial and we would very much like you to thank them on our behalf. Your help would be very much appreciated. Good evening Dalene, Just a note to let you know that our journeys aboard the Bazbus were very pleasant ones. The drivers collected us from the appointed hostels (although a little late in PE) and stopped to feed and water us on the way. The staff in the hostels were most helpful and the Island Vibe in Knysna allowed us to leave our luggage there until it was time for the bus to leave. We even arrived early in Cape town and the driver wouldn't leave us until we were inside the hostel gates to wait for our taxi to take us to the hotel. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I just want to send out my warmest thanks to Mark, our bus driver, from Mossel bay to Ct on Saturday the 8th March 08. I was extremely sick, the whole way of the trip, but I must say, Mark made the journey seem much better. Thanks to his hospitality and kind heart he looked after me till I got off at Somerset West. Hello from cold Slovenia, I must write to you, because we travel with yours bus in December 2007. We were very satisfied with yours drivers. All are very good and kindly. But my friend Gregor, who travel with me and my husband ask me to tell you for one driver Joshua, black man, who drive us in 24. December 2007 from Port Elizabeth to Durban of course if it possible, tell him that he is a very good man, kindly and good driver. We had a very fun and interesting travel with him.. Two days before drived us one Indian man, also very kindly. He told us everything what we were interesting for and between travel tell us about interesting places and thing between travel. Baie dankie Baz Bus-Team! EW 429 has arrived home save and sound!!! I had an excellent time in the Baz Bus. It really rocks! I travelled in June 06, all the way from Durban to Cape Town (my favourite city). The service is baie goed. I met some many interesting people and the bus drivers are great. South Africa is a great country to travel and with Baz Bus it's really easy too! There is always something nice to see outside (except Joburg). Only I prefer to listen to music instead of watching movies. Moreover I saw the Big 5, dolphins, a whale and much more! On my first day on the Baz Bus I met an English all round good bloke and travelled with him for a short week. We had a great time. It was always nice to meet people after a couple of days in the same bus again. I also did the Cape Peninsula tour. It was one fun day with lots of other independent travelers and bus driver Barry (really a nice guy and funny too!). I really would recommend this tour to everybody! Next time I'll take the Baz Bus again. I will be back in 4 years, for sure! Thank you all! And special thanks to:

Hi I recently rode on the baz bus and it was a great way to get around South Africa. I'm so glad I found out about it otherwise I wouldn't know what to do. Sam was one of the drivers. hey there. i ve been traveling with your company a year ago. it was so much fun for me and i really enjoyed my time in south africa, which is still my favorite country after one year of traveling around the world. so right now i m back in germany and i would like to ask you something. i went from port elizabeth straight to durban, through the transkei. it was amazing to see this stripe of countryside. on the way we made a stop at a petrol station - up in the hills/mountains - and i wanted to take a foto of the buz and the old, crappy petrol station. i moved some steps away and as i turned around there were a couple of black guys, dancing around the bus and do some posing. they talked to us and we had a few very funny minutes. i took some pictures and promised to send them to ! the bazbus driver for this route so he could print em out and give em to the guys from the petrol station. i don t remember where exactly it was, but i'll send a picture from the station as well, so you might know where it is. i would be more than happy to hear, that you ve been able to give the pictures at least to the petrol station. a year ago is a pretty long time, but i hope that the pics still will reach these funny and awesome guys. finally, i wanna thank you for the great transportation. it s a damn good company and i always had some laughs with your drivers. keep goin! i would be happy to hear from you. kind regards, hauke from germany

Although not too comfortable, I enjoyed all my BB journeys - it was certainly one way of seeing your fabulous & beautiful country. The best? Going to the Peninsular with Raymond & Barry. The worst? Hallo Baz-Bus-Team, now, I think it`s really time to say thank you for all the help I found in your baz-bus-team. Firstly I was in South Afrika in 03/00. I visit South Afrika with the baz-bus, because a friend from germany,told me, that is the best way to travel to SA. He told me also, that I can be in contact with an german-baz-bus-station. That was wonderful for me, because I can send all my questions to Simone and she answered me in german. This is and was in 03/05 a wonderful way to manage my travel to South Afrika. Everything was really simple for me, because I can ask everything I like to now to Simone. Thank you! Your team is really friendly and do what they can. Some of my friends like to travel to SA in the next year. Clearly, that they ask my for the best way to travel to SA, because they now, that I will go to SA in the September. Some of them don`t speak english very well, but they like to travel on an independent way, and not with an Travel-Organisation from germany,which you have to pay for an three-week-holiday in SA near 3.500,- EURO. So, I tell them , that they can ask everything, what they want Simone and can send an E-Mail in german to her. And they can book their baz-bus-tickets and tours in german with an really good price ! Dear Dalene, I'm back in Argentina and I want to thank you for the Bazbus service. The drivers were all very helpful, the booking service worked as expected and the buses came always on time. Regarding the hotel, we were beautifully treated and welcomed with a cozy atmosphere at Myxo's (Swaziland), Dolphin's (Durban Bluff), P.E. Backpackers (Port Elizabeth) and City Slickers (Cape Town). Hi Dalene, I don't know if you remember me... Last year in October/November I had the freebie opportunity to travel with BazBus from C.T. to Jo'burg and you showed me your headoffice in SeaPoint. So, I promised to give you a feedback after all and now I'm back in Germany and back in the STA branch since January! First of all I want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I had a great time in South Africa and the tours with BazBus were fantastic. During my stay in Cape Town I enjoyed the Cape Peninsula tour and after that I was travelling some distances with BazBus. The drivers were all very friendly and patient e.g. when some of the guys passed the departure ;-) It's really a good service to pick up the clients on the backpackers... especially with lots of luggage. Sometimes I met some travellers who drove with Neother companies through the country...they were moaning about the walk to the bus station but I think that's one of the reasons why they can offer cheaper prices. Especially the time in the Northern Drakensberg was gorgeous..the landscape, the silence - everything! But it's for sure that I come back to South Africa because I have met a wonderful man in Cape Town.... But first I will recommend and hopefully sell some BazBus Ticket. Kind regards

Dear All Just to let you know I travelled with Baz Bus between the 29th November and the 17th December. Besides having the time of my life I cannot speak highly enough of the bus drivers and the staff on the phone I had dealings with. I met with nothing but courtesy and efficency. There was no hard sell to participate in activities as happens with other bus companies in other countries. Everything happened with the least amount of fuss and good cheer always prevailed. For any woman of a certain age! and travelling on her own I would thoroughly recommend the Baz Bus. Once again thank you to everyone who made my trip to South Africa an unforgetable holiday. Hello Renee and Dalene, how are you? I have returned from my trip to South Africa just over a week ago. Chris and I absolutely loved it!! Heres what we did... We took the"Loop" pass, we first joined the Baz Bus between Joburg and Durban. The driver Sam picked us up right in front of our hostel in Joburg, and the trip to Durban was very nice, there was plenty to see along the way. I particularly loved the Drakensberg, where i also got to see my first baboons! We just spent a night in Durban (time constraints...) then joined the Baz bus again the next morning to Mtubatuba. There we stayed at the Khumbulani Lodge for a few days and visited the attractions of the area. It was probably the best hostel Ive ever stayed at! From there we made our own way to Nelspruit (i had a little problem because i didnt manage to get a visa for Swaziland, and therefore couldnt join the Baz Bus) but it was quite an adventure driving around South Africa! We then spent the next three days driving around Kruger NP. Didnt get to see all of the Big Five (only 3), but it was one of the most amazing things Ive ever done! Then we took the Baz Bus again between Nelspruit and Joburg when the driver once again took us safely to our hostel door! I definitely recommend the Baz Bus! It is a great budget option, convenient and informative, you can meet other travellers, its also good because the drivers break the trip and stop every now and then for meals and to stretch your legs. And obviously, it gives you safety as you dont have to make your way to bus / train stations and get picked up at the hostel door. Thanks again for the opportunity! Hi, We travelled recently from Swaziland to Cape Town using the Baz Bus, we would just like to say that we found the service excellent and would like to say that your driver 'Johnny' I think he lives in Durban, gave excellent service. He always gave great information not only on the BazBus but on the areas which we were travelling through. No videos were put on when travelling through places of interest and scenic areas. The Transki was one such area he was very up to date on his information. He stopped the bus for people to take photographs which was much appreciated as these trips are mostly once in a lifetime trips so the camera is very important.
The only two things we would like to say is that you should put a little notice under the TV screen telling travellers not to put their shoes on the seats as your buses are in very good condition and it is not good for the seats for very dirty shoes being where people have to sit, people will put their feet up but they need to remove their shoes first!! Secondly the Videos were just awful and so loud not that we mind the videos and do not want to sound like kill joys but try to improve on that if poss. Yours faithfully,

Hi everybody! 18 days, 13 beds, one hell of a time! Thanks for receiving me, feeding me & exposing me to the South Africa I never knew. Now I do, and boy, am I PROUD to be part of all of this! To Renee and Dalene and all the friendly guys of the BazBus: thanks for taking me places. BazBus has become like "home"... except that I saw the whole country and met the whole world from the comfort (!) of my seat. To the Stumbl'inns, Neil, Clive & Gabriel: nobody can say that you skip on quality OR quantity. Hope our guardian angel's wings (ribs?) has mended by now. To the Wildsiders, Garth and Elly: Great place for beach bumming. Would have loved to see some more spectacular sunsets... To the Tube-n-axe men, Steven, Marius, Scott & champagne bubble Brigitte: Keep the fires going! And yes, I'm convinced that ALL your visitors (and not just me!) get five star treatment. Stormsriver - the place to get HIGH (of hoog in die takke, soos ons boere dit noem). Hug a tree, and have a beautiful bruise to prove it... To Wouter at PE Backpa'ckers: If I'd stayed any longer I'd have LOVED to try out Violet's home cooked bread. To the Hogsback Hunks, Stuie & Darryn: What a place! And what a magician in the kitchen! Dear Manager, I would just like to congratulate you on the excellent service and awesome spirit from one of your bus drivers named Berry. Yesterday I had to take a bus from Natures valley to Jeffreys Bay. When I paid for the my ticket I thought the busdriver was definitely one of the most friendly and professional people I have ever met. When one of the backpackers asked if he can recommend accommodation in Jbay Berry very politely said that he was not at liberty to do so showing his commitment to your inhouse rules. Then on our way to Jeffreys on the N2 we drove past a man lying on the yellow line at 8'oclock at night. Berry did not keep going but he stopped. Shielding the man until the ambulance arrived from oncoming traffic shurely saved the mans life. Berry is a asset to your company please look after him well. Best Regards
Dear Baz Bus, I am writing to express my thanks to Sam, the driver from P.E. to Cape Town yesterday. Near George, the gearbox from the bus broke, and we had to wait 3 hours for the mechanic and replacement bus to arrive before continuing the journey. During this time, Sam was very apologetic (though clearly it was not his fault) and he was very optimistic. He was incredibly friendly and immediately sorted us out with some food. His attitiude meant that the time flew by and the delay became only a minor problem. I hope that he is appreciated for his good nature and general attitude towards his job. It was my first time backpacking and I met so many different & interesting people & did a lot of fantastic & memorable things - I will never forget it. The service provided was outstanding. From the time we got on in Cape Town to the time we got off in Durban , our drivers were always punctual and made all our journeys in good time, and the buses themselves were very comfortable & well equipped. All the drivers also always had something interesting to say, which made the time pass quicker especially GARY, JAY & JOHNNY, and the fact that our route took up past Nelson Mandela's house was great. JOHNNY especially (PE to Durban ) was brilliant the entire time we were on the bus. My holiday in Hermanus It was a niche holiday. The first day I went Sand boarding with two Scottish girls. One was called Susan. She is very beautiful and very lovely. At 1.00pm the companys bus took us to go Sand boarding. On the way, we talked and laughed (Susan loves joking).
About 15 minutes later we arrived at the beach. The sand was a big slope. Susan is very brave, she leaped down first. We were all surprised. I was worrying for her safety1 2 3 4
She almost hit the stones. Just then, suddenly, she turned 180 degrees on her feet and gently she stood on the sand. Beautiful movement! shouted and clapped everyone. One time I almost leaped into the sea, luckily she pulled me back. I had to admire her technology.
That night she leftwe hugged each other and she wished me to: Have a good time The second day, three German girls arrived. Verena, Tanja and Juliana taught me some German and I taught them some Chinese. We bought some pepper bread, wine and cigarettes. We lay on the stories and Juliana very kindly threw me her oat for lying on. We talked about the future, drank wine and smoked, very very romantic.
Be quick! Verena called to us. I looked and saw a big whale where she pointed. Juliana took the chance and ka cha. She caught the whale on camera. That evening we drank coffee and danced in the pub.
On the third day, I met two German girls from Berlin. They were both very tall and very beautiful. We had supper together that night. Real Japanese food; very, very delicious. Then we went down to the sea, the dark sights were beautiful and charming, so we sat on the sand and felt the sea-wind.
We got into a cage that lowered under the waterline slowly. At first, only 1 0r 2 sharks swam around us, at last, there were about 5or 6. They were cruel and dangerous looking and always gnawed the cage. We were all afraid; we had to back up so the sharks teeth couldnt touch us. It was very interesting.
I also went sea kayaking and the whales crossed in front and almost hit our boat. That day the wind was strong and the sea was surged. We stayed out of the middle of the ocean; the seawater was very, very cold.
On Saturday evening I went to the pub with my English friend. We danced, played table whisky and had a little headache the next day.
Finally on Saturday, the holiday was over and Baz Bus took me home. I had a great holiday!!!

I was really pleased to see that after 4 years from my first visit (year 2000) things are better and everything is improving. We travelled by Baz Bus which offers a safe and comfortable service from Jo'burg to Cape Town delivering people just in front of the stepdoor of the backpacker where they choose to stay, and believe me, when I say that there is a big choice. Most of the backpacker in SA are clean, really nicely furnished and are managed by nice and kind people. I would like to signal for the professionality and cleanliness: Africa Centre in Jo'burg, probably the best place where to arrive and plan the holiday in S.A. Sondzela in the beautiful Milwane reserve in Swaziland Bib's in St. Lucia, nice place where to stay and visit the many beautiful parks present in this area. Hippo's Hide in Durban, relaxing, clean, with a pleasant tropical garden. Buccaneers in Cintsa, a place to stay to enjoy the wonderful 17 km. long beach or to join one of the several activities that they organize. Port Elisabeth B/P in P.E., a good and clean place to stay if you want to visit Port Elisabeth. Knysna B/P in Knysna, nice place, nice staff, nice town. Niklas and I met in 1997 in London although neither of us are English, Niklas is Swedish and I am Australian. Like a lot of backpackers we were living and working in London. We had a summer romance in the UK and then went off on different backpacking trips which we had planned prior to meeting each other. Half a year later I was in South Africa and set to travel from Joburg to Capetown on Baz Bus. I was very pleasantly suprized when Niklas, who knew of my plans, turned up in Joburg to meet up with me and do Baz Bus trip. It was January 1998 and a very happy and unexpected reunion. We have fantastic memories from all the stops on Baz Bus Joburg to Capetown route (via Drakensberg). Especially in Coffee Bay where 10 days into our trip we got engaged! We had 2 wonderful months in South Africa, met lovely people, saw great sights and loved every minute of the journey. We were married in June 1998 and this coming January we plan to do at least part of the SA trail again 5 years after our reunion, this time well bring our baby daughter along for the ride. We will always be backpackers at heart, and sometimes miss the freedom of that lifestyle. Our next trip cant be quite as carefree, travelling with our daughter Elyssa and having work commitments, a mortgage etc. But we are very happy and living in Sweden - I've attached a picture. We're glad to see that Baz Bus has expanded and still going strong. You guys do a great job. Best Regards

Dear Baz Bus staff, I have just come back from South Africa and I really feel the need to write and thank you for the excellent service you offer to people like me who want to travel without too much hassle. May I say that I was very impressed by the organization and by the friendliness and helpfulness I always foud when I phoned to book or when I spoke to the drivers (which was often as I nearly always sat in front! and I like talking to the people of other countries). I must say this way of travel is ideal and I hope to find it in other countries. I think Mr Baz ( I don't remember his name) had an excellent idea. I am a woman of 62 who is used to travelling ( I actually work also as a tour leader for Italian groups all over the world) but when I travel by myself, I like to go to hostels and travel as I did in SA. It was really easy yo travel using your system:hop-on/hop-off, door-to-door service.I felt I must write to thank you and to praise you. I am a person who writes to complain often so it's nice to write in praise for a change. I also want to thank the person who organized that a pair of shoes I had forgotten outside the tent in Kruger Park managed to have Baz Bus deliver them to the Ritz Backpackers just before I left for Swaziland. I don't know if it was organized by the Bundu Safari people or Baz Bus, but thank you anyway. Also please say hello to Sally (Cape Peninsula Tour, 6th March). Hello: We went on one of your trips round the Cape Pensinsula on Sunday 7 September. Were now back home in the UK, and wanted to thank you again, and to let you know what a fantastic tour it was. Im not usually too keen on organised trips, but we (my son, my daughter and I) realised that this was the only way to see Cape Pensinsula, Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope, etc. It was the most wonderful trip, an incredible day, amazing sights, and so good to have time to mountain bike, time to wander, time to walk.etc. We didnt feel the slightest bit herded on and off the bus! Dear Baz Bus Have just returned to New Zealand after five months in Africa. I spent two and a half months of those in South Africa and on Baz Bus...did the whole circuit both ways. I have always been into very independent travel...no overland trucks.. only local transport...etc. I was very hesitant about starting Baz Bus, as I had already done similar transport like that in Aust. Europe and NZ and had found it like a mobile zoo...BUT I have to say I found Baz Bus an excellent way to move around and your drivers are a credit to your company. Thank-you! The way you guided us through the Cape peninsula, sharing your knowledge of our history, flora and fauna was just in the right dosage. Even for us local Capetonians there was still something to be learnt. We thoroughly enjoyed the cycling part at Cape Point, followed by a great outdoor lunch as well as the walk down to Diaz beach and across to the Cape of Good Hope. Dear Barry, I would just like to thank you so much for kindly letting us use your bus for the trip to Coffee Bay. Saquila (please excuse the spelling) was fantastic for putting up with us so well, and hope he enjoyed the trip too. We hope the bus was in a decent state when it was returned and apologise profusely if there was a problem with anything over the whole time we were away. Hello Leigh-Anne, We just returned from SA and had a wonderful time with Baz Bus. Personally for me it was too organized, but everything worked out well and all the drivers were very very friendly, big compliment. Also the trip down to the Cape with Jason was excellent, one of the best guides I've ever had.

Hello Barry, I have just spend the past 6 weeks traveling on the BazBus. I wanted you to know I had the most wonderful experience. I want to compliment everyone that I had dealings with from my first email to Neela form the States to the last drop off in Joburg. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, efficient and professional.
The drivers were all very good and conscientious. Raymond is our favorite however. Emmanual comes next on the list. Jay was also great but all of them very good. The whole concept was fantastic. I am going to be writing some stories for a few newspapers in the States on my return. Is there anything in particular that you would like high lightered or not included? We were only 2 of 3 Americans we met while traveling on the bus so I am sure more people in the States would love to hear of our experiences. We also found that not one person we talked 2 in the 4 months we were in SA had even heard of Baz Bus. Plus there were very few on the bus ever.
Thanks again for having the excellent "Baz Bus" available for us to travel on and make our SA adventure such a magnificent one. I am the mother of the mother and daughter team with the very heavy bags that made all your drivers groan!!

Hi I booked a trip with the Adventure Village on Friday 21/12/2001 on the spur of the moment - destination, Natures Valley. Kimberley recommended a trip with Baz Bus. Well, I have to commend your drivers, and the safe and on time service you offer travelers. We drove down with your driver Eddie to Natures Valley, yesterday to Knysna with another driver, did not et his name, and back to Cape Town today with Sakhile. All three of them displayed absolute professionalism, patience and courtesy with all of the tourist. I have traveled thoughout Africa for many years in the comfort of a family car, and was at first skeptical about traveling at this time of the year using a service such as Baz Bus. But I am astounded at the pace at which your drivers work, with all the logistics and many deadlines that they face each day, yet not at any stage did they excessd the speed limit, or put their passengers in any danger, and they managed to arrive on time, every time. For an impatient person such as myself, this was welcomed! Being the regular critic and observer, I also found the whole co-ordination between Baz Bus and the backpacker industry interesting and well organized to promote tourism in this country. It is rare that a company offer such a wonderful service. Being a South African, single parent, without a vehicle, with a passion for the road, I am excited about traveling to all the "off the beaten track" places you go to. I saw many more that you could add to your list, however backpackers need to organize free or low cost shuttle services to make the activities in the areas accessible to those without transport. Another thing, mainly foreign tourists use your service, which is fine and I'm sure it's your target market, but could you not promote routes, and out of season trips for locals to buy, so that they too become a traveling nation, besides the backpackers would welcome year round trade. We have such a beautiful country, and coming back from the coast today, I can truly say I'm proud to be a South African. Dear Mr Zeidel, I have recently returned from a trip to Natal by Baz Bus and feel that I would like to send you my sincere congratulations. What a wonderful service you have provided for all the back packing tourists. I am 77 years old gal, but considerably more active that the average old lady my age, and, having heard about Baz Buses, thought it would be fun to go along and have a leisurely look at the countryside. Going up & coming back I was the only South Africa passenger and at lest 50 years older that any one else! I enjoyed the atmosphere.
